Four Oaks Manor

Four Oaks

The house was built by a preacher/farmer on 400 acres. As farming declined, the property was divided and sold off in lots. All that remains of the original lot is about four acres. Built around 1921, this original Georgia farmhouse named for the large old oak trees that grace the front of the house, has a wraparound porch with rocking chairs, porch swings, benches and small glass tables & chairs for sitting. Considered a mansion in its day, the house was actually wired for lights and had a well located just out the back door on a covered porch. There are two large rooms on the front of the home. A bar with quiet seating is located in the blue room. The red room is across the hall and has a large screen television, a comfy leather sofa, and two leather chairs so that your guests can sneak a peek at the big game when they absolutely must!

The six fireplaces that originally heated the home are all unique and help bring the farmhouse to life. One is located in each large room and inspired the décor of each room. The master bedroom and master bath on the main level is normally used by the groom and groomsmen to prepare for the ceremony. The large dinning room/kitchen area can be used as a serving area during the reception or as the location for elegant dining seating up to ten people. The two bedrooms, large hallway, and dressing-room style bathroom upstairs can be used for the bride and bridesmaids to prepare for the ceremony away from the hustle and bustle while looking out the back windows to keep up with all the other preparations and arrivals. The covered red porch on the back makes an excellent place to serve refreshments and serves as a starting place for the wedding party’s procession to the wedding site.

Our beautiful historic farmhouse and 4 acre property give you several options for just WHERE you will say your vows. Our most popular location is the rear courtyard allowing you to be amongst the trees. The Wedding procession will be led from the rear porch, across our beautifully landscaped backyard, and up to our hand-crafted altar. You can also opt for a more intimate indoor ceremony, held within our Carriage House. It's hardwood floors allow it to convert into your reception ballroom as soon as you say "I do".

The grounds to the rear of the house also include a mid 1800’s era homestead, a large open area for outdoor receptions, a large metal gazebo nestled under the huge fig and cherry trees, a tree house play area for children. This entire area is wired for sound so that music can be played throughout the wedding and reception area. The large metal gazebo nestled under the huge fig and cherry trees provides an excellent location for an alternate wedding site, a specialty drink area, a cake serving location, or just a nice place for people to sit and take it all in. The mid 1800’s era homestead can be used as a bar or serving area. We call this the smokehouse since smokers are attracted to the crushed gravel patio, wrought iron tables, and chairs to relax and smoke their cigarettes away for the main area.

One of our guest's favorite features, especially for fall and early winter gatherings, is our fire pit. Sit fire side and sip cocoa when its cool, or hang out and have a beer in the summer. Our fire pit adds yet another distinctly Southern touch to our incredible property!
